    Bronx Borough Prez celebrates Black History Month – Caribbean Life

    Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson hosted her Black Historical past Month celebration at Eastwood Manor on Eastchester Highway within the Bronx on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

    Gibson, whose father hails from Trinidad and Tobago, stated the night acknowledged the richness of African American custom, tradition, and historical past within the Bronx and featured particular performances. CBS-2 Newscaster Alicea Reid served as emcee.

    Additionally receiving awards had been Woodlawn Cemetery for preserving the recollections of distinguished African-Individuals; Movie star Chef Kwame Onwuache; Rebecca Foster, Ujima Sound Productions; Allyshia Renay Hamilton of Get Away For A Day With Allyshia Renay; and Slick Rick, GRAMMY Award winner and founding father of Victory Patch Basis.

    “I am enormously happy with the achievements made by every of our honorees, from our Deputy Metropolis Clerk, Shirley Saunders, who acquired the Aurelia Greene Memorial Award, to Woodlawn Cemetery for preserving the recollections of distinguished African Individuals,”  Gibson informed Caribbean Life afterward.

    “Movie star Chef Kwane Onwuacho from Tatiana’s Restaurant at 10 Lincoln Sq.; Rebecca Foster, producer with Ujima Sound Productions; Allyshia Renay Hamilton, producer of ‘Get Away for a Day with Allyshia Renay’; and Slick Rick, a GRAMMY Award and founding father of Victory Patch Basis, every proceed to share their expertise with us in distinctive and profound methods,” she added.
