BELMOPAN, Belize, CMC – Belize has assumed the Professional-Tempore Presidency of the Complete Regional Framework for Safety and Options, referred to by its acronym in Spanish, MIRPS, throughout a ceremony held in Panama.
In 2017, Belize signed on to the Declaration of San Pedro Sula and, together with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Panama, agreed to execute the MIRPS framework as a direct utility of the International Compact on Refugees.
The MIRPS construction is primarily involved with the well-being of asylum seekers, refugees, and displaced individuals and promotes regional cooperation among the many nations of Central America.
