Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday warned younger folks that it’s a unhealthy resolution to have interaction in gun battles with officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) and Trinidad and Tobago Protection Power (TTDF).
He was talking with reporters on the launch of TT Agri Expo 2024 on the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain. Rowley mentioned he didn’t need to touch upon that an excessive amount of on the police capturing that left 6 lifeless, however the circumstances appeared that some unhealthy selections have been made.
He added, “I need to say to younger folks, don’t make the error of believing or letting anyone make you consider that you would shoot your manner out of a scenario with the police or the Protection Power. That may be a unhealthy resolution.

The Prime Minister added: “Now we have to guard the law-abiding. The police have been educated to shoot and they’ll shoot to kill should you threaten their lives. Once you arm your self with a weapon like a gun, it means that you’ve decided to make use of it. And it doesn’t make sense to suppose that the legislation enforcement officers will wait to see what you do and the way you employ it. So, you’re placing your self in hurt’s manner.”

On August 14 the Trinidad police shot and killed six people, together with one girl, in Freeport.
The police mentioned these killed have been allegedly concerned in two house robberies within the Central space.
