BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Cricket West Indies (CWI) has handed a two-match suspension to quick bowler Alzarri Joseph following a disciplinary breach through the third CG United One-Day International (ODI) at Kensington Oval on Wednesday.
CWI introduced the suspension in alignment with its dedication to upholding professionalism and integrity throughout all ranges of West Indies cricket. The incident, reviewed in session with the senior males’s teaching staff, was deemed inconsistent with CWI’s requirements for participant conduct.
CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe expressed the group’s place on the matter: “Alzarri’s conduct didn’t align with the core values that Cricket West Indies upholds. Such conduct can’t be missed, and we have now taken decisive motion to make sure the gravity of the state of affairs is absolutely acknowledged.”
A public apology
Following the announcement, Joseph issued a public apology, acknowledging his lapse in judgment and expressing his remorse. “I acknowledge that my ardour obtained the most effective of me,” he acknowledged. “I’ve personally apologized to Captain Shai Hope and my teammates and administration.
