GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – The 15-member Caribbean Group (CARICOM) grouping Friday stated it “condemns within the strongest phrases’ the latest Israeli strike on residential premises in Doha, Qatar.
“This act of aggression constitutes a flagrant disregard for worldwide regulation and a transparent and harmful violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar,” the regional grouping stated of the incident that occurred on Tuesday, ensuing within the deaths of a minimum of six individuals, whose funerals passed off on Thursday.
CARICOM acknowledged that the strike passed off at a time when Qatar had been serving as a key mediator in negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“With this reckless motion, Israel has straight undermined these important diplomatic efforts, demonstrating a profound disregard for worldwide norms. CARICOM urges all events to train restraint and redouble their efforts to pursue a peaceable decision via dialogue and negotiation.”
CARICOM stated it has “repeatedly referred to as for an instantaneous, unconditional, sustained ceasefire, the unimpeded provision of humanitarian help in Gaza, and the return of all hostages.
“We’ve persistently condemned all violence towards civilians and have repeatedly reaffirmed our unwavering dedication to a two-state resolution as the one viable path to a complete, simply, and lasting peace.
” CARICOM stands in full solidarity with the State of Qatar and reaffirms its dedication to working with the worldwide neighborhood to de-escalate tensions and forge a sturdy peace that meets the reliable aspirations for safety and stability of all peoples within the Center East,” the regional grouping added.
