    With long-time fan favorites and a choice of new songs, Jamaica, Queens-based Braata Productions stated on Friday, June 6, that it plans to return to Off-Broadway with “Unplugged — A Caribbean Choral Expertise.”

    Braata Productions stated this 12 months’s season will “heart the person voices of the award-winning choral group.

    “The Singers will share their musical journeys, bringing an intimate contact to the songs which have formed them,” it stated.

    Braata Productions stated this season additionally pays tribute to Suriname’s fiftieth anniversary of independence, highlighting its wealthy musical traditions.

    “Moreover, we shine a lightweight on lesser-known Caribbean connections, highlighting the music of locations like Belize and different hidden gems of the Diaspora,” Braata Productions stated.

    Braata returned to varsities and senior facilities throughout New York Metropolis in April, formally kicking off one other 12 months of our Braata Academic programming.

    “From in-school residencies to Senior Middle workshops, our educating artists are inspiring college students and elders alike, simply as they encourage us,” Braata Productions stated.

    It stated that this 12 months, lessons embody dance, theatre, music, and visible arts, taught at over 5 colleges and senior facilities.

    In April, Braata Productions introduced that it had been awarded an Obie Theatre Grant for its work showcasing Caribbean and Caribbean American artists.
