KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC—Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, is attending the twenty sixth Inter-American Congress of Ministers and Excessive-Stage Authorities of Tourism on the Group of American States (OAS) headquarters in the US.
The April 3-4 assembly is being held below the theme ‘Harnessing the Energy of Heritage Tourism for Improvement within the Americas.’ It’ll convey collectively greater than 22 tourism ministers, different high-level nationwide authorities from OAS member states, and consultants from throughout the Americas.
The Congress will discover how cultural heritage, community-based initiatives, and inclusive tourism can drive sustainable financial growth and environmental stewardship throughout the area.
It’s anticipated to undertake Ecuador’s Draft Declaration and Plan of Motion and elect new authorities for the Inter-American Committee on Tourism (CITUR).
Among the many subjects on the agenda are constructing an Inter-American Plan for Heritage Tourism, selling tourism in indigenous and Afro-descendant communities, empowering micro, small, and medium-sized tourism enterprises (MSMEs), and strengthening community-based tourism fashions.
Bartlett, chair of the Inter-American Tourism Fee, will tackle the opening ceremony on Thursday.
The Inter-American Council for Integral Improvement (CIDI) chair and Everlasting Consultant of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to the OAS, Ambassador Lou-Anne Gilchrist, and OAS Secretary Basic Luis Almagro, may also tackle the session.
