NEW YORK, CMC—The USA Customs and Border Safety (CBP) company says officers on the Cannon Corners, Champlain border crossing in upstate New York have arrested a Canadian citizen for trying to hide an unlawful Vincentian nationwide in a automobile’s spare tire.
On Friday, CBP stated brokers detected inconsistencies throughout a driver’s inspection on Thursday that led to additional automobile inspection.
“As officers inspected the trunk, they found a girl hiding within the spare tire compartment,” CBP stated. “The 32-year-old lady was decided to be a citizen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, was processed for elimination from the USA and returned to Canada.”
Officers arrested the smuggler, a 42-year-old lady, and a Canadian citizen.
“Our expert CBP officers are conversant in all strategies of human and contraband concealment,” stated Champlain Port Director Steven Bronson.
“I’m happy with the dedication and dedication of our officers as they proceed to maintain our nation and communities secure from these trying to evade inspection,” he added.
After arrest and processing by CBP officers, the Canadian lady was remanded to the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Workplace Jail, awaiting prosecution for “alien smuggling,” CBP stated.
