    West Indies cricket icon Sir Clive Lloyd has welcomed the information that Guyana President Dr. Irfaan Ali has been named the brand new chairman of the CARICOM Sub-committee on Cricket.

    The outgoing chairman, Trinidad’s Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley, introduced through the ultimate day of the forty eighth CARICOM Heads of Authorities assembly in Barbados.

    Dr. Rowley revealed it could be his ultimate CARICOM assembly and handed the baton to Dr. Ali.

    “That is the top of my tenure as Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, and my final assembly at CARICOM, I handed over to the plenary chosen, or agreed to pick out, my colleague from Guyana, who’s an eminent cricketer, as you understand, President Dr. Irfaan Ali to now take the chairmanship of the sub-committee on cricket,” Dr. Rowley stated.

    Sir Clive rousingly endorsed Dr. Ali and stated he expects his fellow countryman to serve nicely within the pivotal place.

    He added that, given Ali’s immense ardour for cricket and his want to see development, improvement, and unity among the many West Indies nations, this augurs nicely.
