For over a decade, the Morant and Berbice volleyball groups have been uniting gamers of all ages and backgrounds from numerous Caribbean nations, fostering group and camaraderie at Valley Stream State Park.
Since 2010, these groups, led by 32-year-old Arwin Bridgelal of Guyana, have provided an area for aggressive and leisure play. Shaped by members of the native Queens group and past, the groups are open to anybody with a ardour for the game.
The Morant group, named after the Port Morant space in Berbice, Guyana, began with a gaggle of native children enjoying collectively. “It started with a man named Joe, and because the youthful gamers moved on to high school, the older group members stepped in,” Bridgelal defined. Through the years, the group has grown to incorporate gamers between 15 and 68, with contributors becoming a member of from nations reminiscent of India and the Dominican Republic.
