GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – The Caribbean Neighborhood (CARICOM) and the African Union (AU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost sensible cooperation and collaboration between the organizations.
Based on an announcement launched by the Guyana-based CARICOM Secretariat on Monday, the MOU was signed within the margins of the not too long ago concluded 79th Session of the United Nations Normal Meeting in New York.
It stated that the MoU envisages making a conducive setting for funding on the African continent and within the Caribbean area.
“Apart from selling investments, the MoU seeks to deepen relations by creating platforms for nearer people-to-people interplay and solidarity by initiatives together with a diaspora volunteer alternate as a framework for associating individuals with improvement. The MoU additionally outlines modalities for cooperation and collaboration, info sharing, and its implementation,” the assertion added.
The CARICOM Secretary signed the MoU -Normal, Dr. Carla Barnett, and the Deputy Chairperson (DCP) of the African Union (AU) Fee, Dr. Monique Nsanzabaganwa.
