NEW YORK, CMC – The Dominica Republic’s Olympic gold medalist Marileidy Paulino and Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn each walked away with US$60 000 after successful their respective occasions on the inaugural, prestigious, all-female Athlos NYC observe meet right here Thursday.
The meet featured six occasions and provided US$60,000 to the winners and $25,000 to second place. Third place snagged $10,000, $8,000 for fourth, $5,000 for fifth, and $2,500 for sixth.
Paulino, the World and Olympic champion, continued her dominance within the 400 meters by crossing the end line in a time of 49.49 seconds to relegate the USA’s Alexis Holmes to second in 49.99, whereas Salwa Eid Naser clocked 50.44 to complete third.
In the meantime, Camacho-Quinn, a bronze medalist on the Paris Olympics, captured the 100-meter hurdles in 12.36 seconds, comfortably forward of second-placed Alaysha Johnson of the USA (12.43), with Olympic champion Masai Russell inserting third in 12.44.
Jamaica’s two-time world champion, Danielle Williams, completed fifth in 12.56 seconds.
