KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The Jamaica Constabulary Drive (JCF) has eradicated gender-specific references inside its ranks.
In a decree outlined in the latest power orders, the JCF says titles akin to Lady Constable will probably be abolished in favor of merely Constable, reflecting a modernized strategy to equality inside the Drive.
The JCF says the transfer, as symbolic as it’s progressive, is a crucial step in its transformation.
The directive was handed down by newly appointed Commissioner of Police Dr Kevin Blake.
The JCF says the choice comes at a historic second. The power commemorates 75 years since girls first donned the police uniform, which it says is a poignant reminder of the enduring battle for gender parity in legislation enforcement.
