KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC—Nationwide Safety Minister Dr. Horace Chang introduced Wednesday that Deputy Commissioner (DCP) Dr Kevin Blake has been appointed head of the Jamaica Constabulary Drive (JCF).
Talking on the post-cabinet information convention, Chang stated that Blake will assume his new place on arch 19, succeeding Main Basic Anthony Anderson, whose tenure ends on March 18.
“We’ve no downside accepting Dr Kevin Blake as the subsequent commissioner of police,” Chang stated, following the Police Service Fee’s suggestion to Governor Basic Sir Patrick Allen.
The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper reported that Blake was amongst 4 deputy commissioners interviewed for the place final week. The others included the soon-to-retire Fitz Bailey, who heads crime and safety; Clifford Blake, who leads strategic operations; and Richard Stewart, who administers and helps companies.
The brand new police commissioner holds a PhD in sustainable growth, a Grasp of Science in computer-based administration data programs, and a Bachelor’s diploma in pc science and arithmetic, all obtained at The College of the West Indies (UWI).
As an assistant superintendent, he joined JCF on a specific entry program and was promoted to DCP in June 2020.
