    SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Peter Anthony Morgan, lead singer of the favored reggae band Morgan Heritage that he based with 4 siblings, died Sunday at 46, his household stated.

    Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness wrote on the X social media platform that his “coronary heart is heavy” over the information. He referred to as Morgan’s dying a “colossal loss” for Jamaica and reggae music.

    Morgan, often called “Peetah,” was a son of famend Jamaican reggae singer Denroy Morgan.

    He and his siblings fashioned Morgan Heritage in 1994, and the band received a Grammy for finest reggae album in 2016 for “Strictly Roots.”
