T&T’s nationwide swimming champion Dylan Carter missed out on a medal on the World Aquatic Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The 28-year-old Carter entered the pool on the Aspire Dome to provide a 23.17 seconds that earned him the fifth-place end within the closing of the 50-metre swim.
America’s Michael Andrew was surpassed by Portugal’s Diogo Ribeiro Matos, who posted the one sub-23-second efficiency on the evening at 22.97 for the win and ensuing gold medal.
Andrew needed to accept the silver medal for the second-place spot together with his 23.07 time, with Australia’s Cameron McEvoy sealing the bronze medal, as he touched the wall on the end line in 23.08 seconds.
