GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands, CMC – The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) has launched an investigation following an incident final Friday, wherein a Delta 737-900 plane from the US managed to hit and knock over a stairs truck Owen Roberts Worldwide Airport and injury the wing because the aircraft pulled as much as park.
Video circulating on social media taken by a passenger confirmed the fast aftermath of the collision with the truck.
The CIAA, which introduced the probe earlier this week, stated no accidents had been reported, and flight operations on the airport had been impacted for round 20 minutes whereas the Cayman Islands Hearth Service arrived.
Delta organized a reduction flight for passengers scheduled to depart on the flight.
In response to a press launch, the CIAA is making an attempt to find what occurred and stop it from occurring once more. “The security and safety of our passengers is our high precedence,” the discharge said. “We’re conducting an intensive investigation to know the circumstances that led to this prevalence and collaborating carefully with airport companions to forestall such incidents sooner or later.”
