Antigua’s Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Forestry, and Marine Assets is about to launch the Younger Entrepreneurs, Farmers, and Fishermen in Agriculture and Agribusiness Mission.
Funded by the CARICOM Growth Fund, this initiative goals to revitalize the agricultural sector by offering important coaching and monetary help to younger farmers, agriculture employees, and agribusiness entrepreneurs.
Combatting rural poverty and youth unemployment
This challenge tackles two essential points in Antigua and Barbuda: rural poverty and youth unemployment.
By increasing alternatives for small-scale agriculture and agribusiness ventures, the Ministry seeks to uplift rural communities and provide various job prospects, notably for people aged 16 to 35.
The objective is to cut back unemployment charges and promote financial progress within the area.
