His daughter, Mickela Panday, in a put up on social media, confirmed his dying, saying, “With deep sorrow, we wish to share that our loving husband and father, Basdeo Panday, handed away on 1st January 2024, surrounded by his household.
“In life and dying, he was a fighter. He handed together with his boots on, holding all people round him on their toes together with his wit and humor. He’ll dwell on in all of us, remembered as a beautiful husband, father, grandfather, chief, and pal.
“He was an inspiration to his household and all people that knew him. We’ll proceed to have fun his life and treasure the time we spent with him,” she wrote.
Panday was an legal professional, commerce unionist, economist, actor, and former civil servant who served because the nation’s fifth prime minister from 1995 to 2001.
