Brooklyn Sen. Roxanne J. Persaud has honored Trinidadian-born New York Police Division (NYPD) Detective Tricia Navarro-Caraballo with New York State Senate 2023 Veterans’ Corridor of Fame Award.
Persaud, the Guyanese-born consultant for the 19th Senate District in Brooklyn, stated the New York State Senate Veterans’ Corridor of Fame was created “to honor and acknowledge excellent veterans from the Empire State who’ve distinguished themselves each in navy and civilian life.
“Their meritorious service to our nation deserves the particular recognition that solely a Corridor of Fame can present as a becoming expression of our gratitude and admiration,” she stated.
Persaud, who visited NYPD’s 63rd Precinct on Nov. 30, introduced the NYS Senate 2023 Veterans’ Corridor of Fame Award to Det. Navarro–Caraballo, a Neighborhood Coordination Officer (NCO) and a resident of Senate District 19.
“I’m delighted to honor Detective Tricia Navarro–Caraballo with the 2023 Veterans’ Corridor of Fame Award,” Persaud informed Caribbean Life on Thursday.
“Det. Navarro-Caraballo has established a powerful report of service throughout her time within the Marine Corp and continues the work on the NYPD to construct a bridge between the division and the group at giant,” she added.
Det. Navarro-Caraballo – who migrated from Trinidad and Tobago, when she was 9 years outdated and attended Martin Luther King, Jr. Excessive Faculty in Manhattan – stated her dream, since “a younger youngster immigrating from Trinidad and Tobago was to serve in america Marine Corps and to affix the New York Police Division.”
“So simple as it could appear, I’m dwelling my dream,” she informed Caribbean Life. “I really feel blessed, grateful, humbled and honored to be chosen, and inducted to NYS Veterans Corridor of Fame,” she stated. “I’m devoted to serving my nation in any method potential.”
Det. Navarro-Caraballo recalled that, as a teenager rising up in Brooklyn, her curiosity to affix the Marines was sparked by their uniform and slogan: “The Few. The Proud. The Marines.”
She stated she served the Marines for 11 years, together with a deployment to Iraq in 2008.
