The Chief Government Officer (CEO) of the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority(ABAA), Euletta Francis, has tendered her resignation, citing disputes with Prime Minister Gaston Browne as the first purpose.
In her resignation letter, Francis revealed that her resolution stemmed from two verbal clashes with Prime Minister Browne. One incident occurred on November 9 when Browne allegedly “berated” her within the presence of Osmond Lake of Dawn Airways “for telling Mr Lake that in two weeks he and I can enter additional dialogue a few enterprise alternative for the airport.”
She mentioned: “The PM needed to know why two weeks and never two days. I tried to elucidate that sure I did inform Mr Lake we may communicate in two weeks and shared the reason is that I used to be within the remaining levels of a USD$100 million mortgage deal for the airport and that was my focus for this week and subsequent.”
