    30 Academy cohorts awarded one-year contracts by CWI – Caribbean Life

    As a part of the efforts to nurture rising expertise within the Caribbean, Cricket West Indies (CWI) has awarded 30 of the area’s up and coming female and male cricketers with one-year contracts which runs from Oct. 1, 2024, to Sept. 30, 2025.

    In making the announcement, CWI revealed that for the primary time in its historical past, the lads’s Academy cohort might be primarily based full-time on the CWI-owned Coolidge Cricket Floor (CCG) in Antigua.

    Fifteen younger males below the age of 23 will obtain year-long teaching and coaching, and can have entry to world-class sources, together with a devoted technical group, as they put together for the rigours of regional and worldwide cricket.

    In the meantime, the Girls’s Academy, which was launched throughout the 2023-24 season will proceed their high-performance improvement of their house territories with common coaching camps at CCG all year long, because the Academy continues to supply younger feminine cricketers crucial improvement alternatives.

    The fifteen ladies awarded contracts for this season will profit from specialised coaching with Expertise Pathway coaches and ongoing high-performance initiatives of their respective territories and CCG, in addition to experiencing a global tour.

    Girls’s Academy Contracts: Asabi Callendar, Jahzara Claxton, NaiJanni Cumberbatch, Shabika Gajnabi, Jannillea Glasgow, Realeanna Grimmond, Briana Harricaharan, Shawnisha Hector, Trishan Holder, Djenaba Joseph, Nyia Latchman, Samara Ramnath, Shunelle Sawh, Steffie Soogrim, Kate Wilmott.
